Background Information     MyOMS.org

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region (jaws and face).

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a specialty that requires many additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. During their residency, oral and maxillofacial surgeons receive extensive training in related medical and surgical disciplines such as general surgery, plastic surgery, internal medicine, critical care medicine, anesthesia and pathology.

As a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Bouchoucha manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, jaw, teeth and facial regions. With 25 years of experience, Dr. Bouchoucha practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to facial reconstructive and corrective jaw surgery.

He is also trained in Cosmetic Facial Surgery including minimally invasive facial rejuvenation techniques and laser procedures.

Dr. Bouchoucha has maintained hospital privileges at Sonora Regional Medical Center and at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He can admit patients and perform surgery there as needed. He communicates closely with the community physicians and dentists  to ensure the best treatment outcomes in complex medical and surgical cases.
